Hey guys! Over the past couple of months I have picked up a few new makeup brushes and today I thought I would share them with you and tell you what I think. They are all from the brand Morphe, which is a very popular brand on social media, and I just really wanted to see for myself what the hype was all about. Overall they are a really affordable brand, the brushes I purchased were all from the Elite collection, which is their nicest/priciest collection. But even so, all of these brushes were fairly cheap. Here's what I got and what I thought!
In my first order I picked up two brushes and a single eyeshadow. The brushes I got were the E18 Round Crease brush and the E4 Angled Contour brush.
I picked up the E18 to use to blend out my lower lash line. It actually works really well for this and I have enjoyed this brush a ton. I still like my Makeup Geek Outer V brush, but this one works about the same for me, which means it has to be pretty great. I wanted the E4 simply because it is shaped so similarly to the Sigma F40 which is my all time favorite blush brush. The Sigma one runs about $22ish I think? So, I figured this would be a great brush to add to my collection. I have multiples of the F40, one I use for pink blushes, one I use for peach blushes, etc. Having multiple blush brushes is great for us lazy gals who hate washing brushes, lol. I have used the Morphe E4 a few times now, and while I don't like it as much as my F40 brushes, I do still like it. I'm just so used to the Sigma ones and they are my tried and true. I think with more use the E4 will soften up and spread out and I will like it more.
This eyeshadow was only 2 bucks. So affordable! I popped this in one of my Z Palettes that I keep on my vanity and I have used it so many times! I have mentioned before that I used to always want to use my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette every time I do my eyes simply for the Peanut Butter shade. This eyeshadow in Spice is a great replacement for that shadow. I start off almost every eye look that I do with a warm orange/brown shade blended out in my crease. This is perfect.
The next order I placed was just for one brush, the M501 Pro Pointed Blender. Jaclyn Hill made this brush so popular, and so many times I have went to order this and it has been out of stock. They finally got it back in and I went ahead and picked it up.
Morphe M501 Pro Pointed Blender, $7.99
Sooooooo much hype around this brush, I have to say I was super doubtful that this thing was as great as everybody let on. But.....turns out some things truly are deserving of the hype. This brush flat out ROCKS for highlighting. For yearssssss I have used a Sigma F35 Tapered Highlighting brush, and while I do still love it, this one is definitely my favorite. It just really PACKS on a highlight. The Sigma brush gave me a much more diffused highlight, whereas this one with just one swipe it's like BAM. Love, love, love. Totally worth the hype. You'll not find a better highlight brush than this one, especially for that price.
Morphe E54 Pro Deluxe Flat Buffer, $19.99
And then my last order was for the E54 Pro Deluxe Flat Buffer brush. Again, for yearssssssss I have used the Sigma F80 Flat Kabuki brush for my foundation and I totally love it. Like seriously love it. I really didn't think there could be a foundation brush that I loved more. Well, all that changed when I met the Morphe E54! It is basically a F80 on steroids, a super-sized mega version that is SO great.
The bristles are super soft and full and omgsh, this thing is so big your foundation is on and done in no time at all. This is one of the more expensive brushes in Morphe's line, but it is totally worth the 20 dollar price tag. The Sigma F80 is $24, so this one is still a better deal. Loveeeeeeee!
Size comparison to the F80.
So yeah guys, overall I would say Morphe is definitely worth the hype. Out of the brushes I purchased I would HIGHLY recommend the M501 highlighting brush and the E54 foundation brush the most. The others are okay and good and everything, but these are EXCELLENT. I will probably pick up a few more here and there, but overall I am quite content with the brushes I have now. If you are needing some new ones I highly recommend checking out the Morphe website, they truly are absolutely fabulous brushes for a great price.
